Dr. Rosemary Calabro Receives American Chemical Society Leadership Development Award
Congratulations to Dr. Rosemary Calabro on being selected for an American Chemical Society Leadership Development Award! Dr. Calabro is a National Research Council postdoctoral fellow working in the Multi-functional Materials Laboratory at West Point and jointly advised with the Combat Capabilities Development Command-Armaments Center. The award recognizes emerging leaders and prepares them for leadership opportunities throughout their professional careers. Chester Dziobkowski is the Mid-Hudson 2018 Outreach Volunteer. Chet is an Emeritus member of the ACS, a past section chair and an active member of the section where he has been the Publicity Chair continuously since 2009. He attended a Sparkle conference where he learned many great skills and tips for publicizing our events. Chet has made important contacts at the local newspapers which frequently advertise our speaker events and National Chemistry Week activities. He also focuses advertising of specific events at relevant places or with community groups who have a special interest in a certain topic.
CARAT CLUB WINNERS As part of our anniversary year celebration in 2017, the section implemented a participation program called The Carat Club.
